NOT SO FANTASTIQUE
Not being one of the enquiring minds Cinefantastique panders to, I agree with your author’s query, “Who cares?”
Fred Clarke’s comparing himself to Woodward and Bernstein is self-aggrandizing lunacy. Does he really think that tattling on the backstage activities of one small facet of the film industry equates him with serious investigative journalists and their subjects? I always thought that people engaged in industrial espionage were referred to by a different name.
I will not buy Cinefantastique for the same reason I do not rattle my Christmas presents before the holiday arrives--I prefer to hold on to the “sense of wonder” which this magazine claims to celebrate, but in reality only seeks to destroy.
