Mrs. Ortega Can’t Get U.S. Visa
WASHINGTON — Nicaraguan First Lady Rosario Murillo de Ortega canceled a planned trip to the United States to attend an Atlanta drug conference where Nancy Reagan will speak because she has not been granted a visa, the Nicaraguan Embassy said today.
Embassy spokeswoman Sarali Porta said that Murillo de Ortega was to have left this morning for the United States “but as of last night the U.S. Embassy in Managua still had not given her a visa.” Murillo de Ortega also was to have visited New York and Washington.
