A murder suspect was shot to death Monday by Pasadena police, who said they found him with an automatic pistol in his hand, standing over the body of a fatally wounded 15-year-old boy.
Police said they were investigating a report of shots fired in Villa Park, when they saw the man, in his late 20s, holding a .45-caliber automatic. Approaching, they said they saw two other people--a teen-age boy and a man in his early 20s--lying on the ground.
Police said they ordered the gunman to drop his weapon, but he refused and they opened fire with a shotgun when he turned toward them.
The juvenile and the suspected gunman were pronounced dead at Huntington Memorial Hospital, where the other man was admitted for treatment of a bullet wound in his foot. Police said the case is still under investigation and names were withheld pending notification of relatives.
