TEACHERS TO HONOR ROUBEN MAMOULIAN
Film director Rouben Mamoulian will receive the annual Jean Renoir Humanitarian Award presented by the Los Angeles Film Teachers Assn. at a dinner dance Friday at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City.
Mamoulian has had a lengthy career in staging opera and musical theater as well as his involvement in films. He directed such features as “Love Me Tonight,†starring Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald, “The Mark of Zorro†with Tyrone Power and “Silk Stockings†with Fred Astaire.
