Raise Limit to 65 M.P.H.?

Over our dead bodies are we going to allow the “lovers of speed” to bring back a proven killer, the 65-m.p.h. speed limit. I say 1,000 deaths a week is enough. Why escalate our unspoken war?
I’m surprised and shocked that the California Highway Patrol and Caltrans have recommended “that the 55-limit be boosted to 65.” Simply because some survey claims that about half the drivers in California don’t like abiding by the present law, which is saving the lives of women and children while also protecting women and children from agonizing injuries incidentally.
