CSUF Men Even Record, Beat Pomona, 6-3

Matt Negle and Fausto Bucheli, the number one and two players on the Cal State Fullerton men’s tennis team, led the Titans to their first win of the season Wednesday afternoon, defeating Cal Poly Pomona, 6-3, at Fullerton.

Negle, a junior, beat Bronco John Cleary, 6-4, 6-2. Bucheli defeated Dave Katz, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Negle and Bucheli won the number one doubles match over Katz and Mark Yamamoto, 7-6 and 6-2.

The Titans (1-1) play UC Santa Barbara Saturday at noon.
