Earnings Up 167% for 1st Quarter, Flamemaster Says
Flamemaster, a Sun Valley manufacturer of flame-retardant coatings for electrical cables, reported 167% higher earnings on 14% lower sales for its first quarter ended Dec. 31. Net income for the quarter was $49,033, or 7 cents a share, on sales of $771,416.
Joseph Mazin, president of Flamemaster, said profits rose because of cost-cutting measures, including a reduction in the company’s administrative staff through attrition.
