A Burbank man died Saturday night after his mattress caught fire as he smoked in bed, the Burbank Fire Department said Sunday.
Gary Chamberlain, 53, was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank about 9 p.m. Saturday after a fire erupted in his apartment in the 300 block of Pass Avenue, a department spokeswoman said.
