Woman Found Dead in Home
A relative discovered a 73-year-old woman dead, apparently from stabbing, in the bedroom of her La Habra apartment Thursday night, police said.
Police identified the victim as Lois L. Bacon, who lived alone in the apartment on Greenwood Avenue. She could have been dead for as long as 24 hours, officers said.
Lt. Howard Berry said there were signs of a struggle but that investigators had not yet determined whether anything had been stolen.
He said a car had been stolen from the apartment complex and that police were searching for it--a 1974 olive-green Mercury Comet, license number 1 CZH 255. He said investigators are withholding the name of the car’s owner.
