Mixon and Ray Lead Canyons Over Antelope

James Mixon scored a game-high 29 and Vincent Ray scored 27 and grabbed 8 rebounds for the Cougars as they won their second straight Mountain Valley Conference game, 102-84, at Canyons on Saturday.
Derek Hughes passed off 8 assists and scored 12 for Canyons, while teammate Kevin Honaker had 14 points. Center Anthony Hines had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Cougars. The Cougars had six players score in double figures. The win improves Canyons to 2-0, 13-7 overall.
Ice Lewis, Antelope Valley’s 270-pound point guard, scored a team-high 28 points but his team dropped to 0-2, 10-14 overall.
