Firm Plans $40 Million in San Diego Housing

Johnson Development Co., based in Newport Beach with an office in San Diego, has announced plans to build more than $40 million worth of new housing in San Diego County over the next 12 months.

Willow Brook, a community of 51 single-family detached houses in Escondido, is scheduled for completion this month. The two- and three-bedrooms homes, ranging in size from about 1,000 to 1,300 square feet, will be priced from $94,500 to $109,900. The company values the project at $5.2 million.

Construction is scheduled to start this month on 47 Classic Mediterranean homes in Lake San Marcos, to be followed later next year by an additional 128 units for a total value of $26 million. Three floor plans will offer 1,400 to 1,800 square feet of living area.

The opening of a combination custom-lot and single-family detached home project featuring lake and golf course views is scheduled for the first quarter of 1986 at Lake San Marcos. It will include 24 custom lots and 36 homes being designed by architect Wayne Davis.
