Gun-Shop Burglary Suspect Caught
A 41-year-old Van Nuys man was arrested Wednesday after he was seen climbing out the roof vent of a Van Nuys gun shop with a bag full of stolen handguns, Los Angeles police said.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was arrested on suspicion of burglary at the Ace Gun Shop in the 6700 block of Sepulveda Boulevard about 11:45 p.m., Sgt. Fred Haptonstal said.
The suspect had climbed through an air-conditioning vent, setting off an alarm, and was making his escape through the same route when he was caught, Haptonstal said.
The suspect is being held at Van Nuys Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail, Haptonstal said.
