Cocaine use accelerated this year among the NFL St. Louis Cardinals as their season went downhill, several players told the St. Louis Post-Dipatch.

At least two members of the Cardinals underwent drug counseling and treatment this year, and several team members were using cocaine in 1984 and 1985, said the Post-Dispatch in a story based on interviews with unidentified current and former players.
