Reputed mobster Paul Castellano was killed in a mob-approved hit because he “talked himself to death”--disclosing too many secrets in conversations monitored by the FBI, a published report said. The report that Castellano might have been responsible for his own undoing was the latest in a series of theories about why the reputed boss of the Gambino crime family was executed. Castellano--reportedly the godfather of the five New York mob families--was gunned down gangland-style by three men in trench coats outside a Manhattan steak house on Dec. 16.
