Olympians Win in Coronado Run
CORONADO — Olympians Thom Hunt and Julie Brown were among the winners at the Christmas in Coronado 10-kilometer run Saturday.
Hunt, who competed in the 10,000-meter run in the 1984 Olympics, finished first overall with a time of 29:13. Brown, who ran in the marathon in the 1984 Games, was the fastest woman at 33:59.
Jim O’Neil, national record-holder in his age group, won the men’s 60-and-older title in 35:12.
Other winners in the men’s divisions were: Gary Gregorio (32:50), 17-and-under; Doug Thomsen (33:37), 30-39; Richard Green (34:22), 40-49, and Mitch Pickens (36:42), 50-59.
Other winners in the women’s divisions were: Shannon Dugger (37:30), 17-and-under; Kim Wight (36:08), 18-29; Helen Baker (47:00), 40-49; Caroline Murray (43:18), 50-59, and Judy Simon (54:42), 60-and-older.
