Free Taxi Rides Home for Holiday Revelers
Holiday celebrants who should not drive because they’ve been drinking may get free taxi rides home during the sixth annual CareCab campaign sponsored throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties by the Irvine-based Comprehensive Care Corp.
The rides will be available from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. from Dec. 24 to Jan 2. Callers will be picked up at any public place such as a bar or restaurant and driven home within a 20-mile radius.
The company, which operates the CareUnit drug and alcohol abuse treatment services, has provided more than 33,000 CareCab rides throughout the country in the last five years. The local number is (800) 422-4143.
