Today Is Another Holiday for Many
Today is another holiday for many government workers, with city, county and state offices closed to stretch Thanksgiving into a four-day weekend.
Schools and most public libraries will be closed.
Federal offices, however, were scheduled to be open, and there will be regular postal service. Banks and many retail stores also will be open, and the Southern California Rapid Transit District’s buses will return to their regular schedules.
Because the U.S. stock and commodity markets were closed Thursday, there is no Business Section in today’s home delivery editions of The Times. Today’s closing stock prices on the New York and American exchanges and some commodities tables will be carried in Part III of the Late Final edition.
