A woman suspected in a number of Orange County burglaries who recently escaped from County Jail is back behind bars after allegedly shoplifting more than $500 worth of tools from a department store in Orange, police said.

Police said Cindy Lee Wright, 26, of Placentia was arrested at a house on the 400 block of N. Finch Street in Anaheim Tuesday just a few hours after she allegedly fled from the Sears department store in the Orange Mall with the tools, Orange Police Sgt. Ed Tunstall said.

Other items valued at about $1,400 that police say were taken in previous burglaries were found in the house, Tunstall said.

Police investigators recognized Wright as an Orange County Jail escapee when they were shown a photograph of her taken by a Sears surveillance camera, Tunstall said. He said officers staked out the Anaheim home because she occasionally lived there.

Police said Wright escaped from the jail on Nov. 5.

She was booked at County Jail on burglary charges stemming from a previous warrant, on the escape charge for which the second warrant was issued and for burglary in the Sears case.
