SDSU Women Lose Basketball Opener

San Diego State University lost its women’s basketball season opener, 72-59, at the University of Minnesota in a nonconference game Wednesday. The Aztecs shot only 27% (20 for 72) from the field.
Brooke Meadows, a freshman, came off the bench to lead the No. 17 rated-Aztecs with 20 points, and Pat Rice added 16. Molly Tadich led Minnesota (1-2) with 18 points.
The Aztecs outrebounded Minnesota, 55-42. SDSU plays Friday at the University of Southern Illinois.
