Nine of 24 students investigated in Stanford University’s largest cheating scandal were suspended for honor code violations. Seven students were suspended for three academic quarters, and the other two were suspended for one quarter, Judicial Affairs Officer Sally Cole said. A tenth student was placed on two years’ probation and received a letter of censure from university President Donald Kennedy, who made the final decisions. Two more cases are pending against students who were in Prof. Philip Zimbardo’s Psychology 1 class last spring. Several of the students, whose names were not released, left campus this fall, and all are expected to start their suspensions during this academic year. None will receive credit for the course.
