A Los Angeles carpet salesman has been found not guilty of charges that he tossed PCP into the face of a police officer trying to arrest him. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz ruled Jose Gomez, 24, not guilty after the non-jury trial on charges of assault on a police officer, assault with a caustic chemical and possession of PCP. Gomez had allegedly tossed the chemical into the eyes of Los Angeles Police Officer Robert Yarnell, 32, in Boyle Heights after Yarnell spotted him carrying the liquid and chased him on foot.
