South Carolina State Beats Grambling, 13-10, on Field Goal With :24 Remaining

GRAMBLING, La. — Richard Dix’s pair of fourth-quarter field goals, the second from 44 yards out with just 24 seconds remaining, enabled South Carolina State to defeat Grambling, 13-10, in college football Thursday night.
A 49-yard halfback option pass from Gerald Foggy to Robert Tyler set up Dix’s attempt that enabled South Carolina State to even its record at 5-5 with one game remaining.
South Carolina held Grambling to 34 yards rushing in 26 carries.
Grambling fell to 8-2 with one regular-season game remaining. Grambling Coach Eddie Robinson is 328-108-15.
Dix’s field goals were the only points scored in the second half.
