Connecticut Completes Basketball Fields
STORRS, Conn. — The University of Connecticut has filled the field for the 1986 and 1987 Connecticut Mutual basketball tournaments and the University of Hartford will be the Connecticut opponent in first-round action in both the 1986 and 1987 events.
The 1986 CMC four-team field includes Texas A&M;, Lehigh, Hartford and Connecticut in games to be played Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 at the Hartford Civic Center. Texas A&M; will meet Lehigh in one first-round game while Connecticut and Hartford will clash for the first time in men’s basketball in the other opening-night game.
The 1987 Connecticut Mutual tournament will mark the 10th anniversary of the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company co-sponsorship with the University of Connecticut. That tournament will include San Francisco, Princeton, Hartford and host Connecticut.
Princeton and USF will meet in the first round with Connecticut and Hartford in the other half of the opening.
