The Nation : UAW, Tank Maker Agree
United Auto Workers officers announced a tentative agreement between General Dynamics Corp. and 5,000 tank assembly workers who have been on strike almost eight weeks. The accord represented a breakthrough on amnesty for 101 workers fired or otherwise disciplined. “All UAW strikers will be returned to work, and no strikers will be fired as a result of picket line activity†if the contract is ratified, UAW Vice President Marc Stepp said in Detroit.
