The Soviet soldier who has sought refuge in the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, met there with the Soviet ambassador in the presence of American diplomats and a U.S. Marine guard. The talk took place at the soldier’s request, and another meeting is scheduled today, the State Department said. It added that the soldier, identified only as a 19-year-old private, has “asked for more time to think over any decision he may take.”
