The Santa Fe Springs City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency, has approved a ground lease for the first phase of a corporate center that will include office and industrial buildings, restaurants, a health club, a day-care center and a historical park.
The developer, O’Donnell, Brigham & Partners, will construct and operate 12 buildings in the first of three phases on the Slusher/IML site at a cost of $25 million, not counting the park. The city has set aside six acres of the 67-acre property for restoration and preservation of Heritage Park, the site of a large residential adobe built in the 1800s and a garden ranch.
The estimated cost of the project at Telegraph Road and Florence Avenue is $75 million, the largest development in the history of Santa Fe Springs, City Manager Don Powell said. The developer still has to review and approve the document.
