U.S. Steel said it will cut some prices.

The published price bases for sheet products will be reduced by $60 per ton and existing discounts will be decreased by the $60 per ton plus an additional 40% reduction of the remaining discount, the company said. U.S. Steel said it is lowering its prices to cut the spread between its published list prices and the actual selling prices for sheet products, which have fallen well below list prices during the steel industry’s recession.
