It’s a Sign of the Times; This Man Doesn’t Like It
It’s getting so that every time you pick up the paper, instead of reading about your favorite player’s progress in training camp, all you hear about is the fact he’s not reporting to camp. Are our priorities in the right place? The dictionary defines contract as a legally enforceable bargain.
Enforceable, hah! How often do owners and players honor them? What happened to the meaning of one’s signature or a giving of one’s word? If I were a professional baseball player, I think I’d just be happy swinging a bat instead of a sledgehammer.
