St. Mary Medical Center will open a new clinic next month to provide treatment for workers and merchant seamen from the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, hospital officials said.
The clinic, under construction at 10th Street and Linden Avenue across from St. Mary, will offer workers from participating companies non-emergency treatment. Most critical cases will continue to be handled at the hospital’s 24-hour emergency room.
The clinic will serve the more than 300 companies enrolled in St. Mary’s Priority One, a hospital-based industrial treatment program.
Marine Medical Services of San Diego, operator of the Anderson Medical Clinic in San Pedro, has joined St. Mary in the joint venture.
