The Mayor’s School Plan
I hope and believe that Mayor Bradley will rue the day he suggested removing black children from their parents’ homes and communities to be reared in boarding schools and camps by more capable “others.”
Who will provide the funds and facilities? Who will staff these centers? Who will train these exceptional parenting experts? Who will select the unworthy parents whose children will be snatched? (Will we use ZIP codes, welfare lists, school free-lunch lists?)
Mayor Bradley might want to offer his considerable child-rearing expertise.
Why not solve the problem at the source by sterilizing all black persons who live in certain areas or--failing that--abort all their pregnancies.
This would cost less than solving problems of poor schools and attendance boundaries that prevent these same parents from sending their children to better schools outside the community: problems of joblessness, red-lining etc.
