A motorist has been booked for vehicular manslaughter in the hit-and-run death of a South Los Angeles boy who was struck when he darted into the street from behind a parked ice cream truck, California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Saiz said. The boy, Samuel Inda, was hit on 69th Street west of Hooper Avenue and dragged 65 feet, Saiz said. The vehicle sped away, but not before witnesses took a license number. Anthony Thomas, 20, also of South Los Angeles, was arrested a short time later and booked at the Sheriff’s Department Firestone station, Saiz said.
