San Ysidro
A juvenile, believed to be an undocumented alien, was killed when he was struck by a van Monday while trying to cross Interstate 805 just north of Beyer Boulevard.
The victim was identified as 17-year-old Eduardo Castenda Gonzales )of Nayarit, Mexico. According to the coroner’s office, there have been several fatal accidents this year involving people trying to cross the freeway near the international border. Gonzales’ death was the second pedestrian fatality on I-805 in a week.
