A Sherman Oaks woman was critically injured Monday when her car was broadsided by a city dump truck at an intersection in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police said.
Rae Friedman, 32, was on her way to a class at Los Angeles Valley College at 7:30 a.m. when her car was hit by the truck at Chandler Boulevard and Fulton Avenue, Officer Rick Vigil said.
Friedman was taken by helicopter to St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank for treatment of head injuries and a broken arm, hospital spokeswoman Gail Foy said.
The driver of the city Bureau of Street Maintenance truck and his passenger were not injured, Vigil said. The truck driver was not cited.
