Jack Kent Cooke requested a restraining order.
The Virginia businessman asked that a temporary restraining order be reinstated to halt the progress of a management plan for recapitalization of Multimedia Inc. Attorneys for Cooke filed the petition in circuit court in Greenville, S.C. Cooke has made two proposals to buy Multimedia, but has been rejected by the company’s board of directors both times. Cooke obtained a temporary restraining order in May, but Circuit Judge C. Victor Pyle vacated that order June 19. Cooke is seeking reinstatement of the the temporary restraining order to prevent the contested issue from becoming moot.
