District Bicycle Races Set for Griffith Park

For Southern California competition cyclists, the road to a national championship goes through Griffith Park.
The United States Cycling Federation will hold its district road races Sunday, 11 events over a 6.6-mile Griffith Park loop. The senior men’s 15-lap, 99-mile race will start at 10 a.m. The women will follow with a seven-lap, 46-mile race at 11, and the junior men’s nine-lap, 60-mile race will begin at noon.
Cyclists from Southern and Central California, ranging in age from 12 to 55, will compete. To be invited to the national competition, a cyclist must qualify in district races.
