‘Raw Milk and Safety’
The decision by our dairy to go to court to challenge a critic of raw certified milk products is an effort to present scientific evidence, not silence it, as indicated by your editorial.
The $110-million suit is not a move to intimidate but rather to serve notice that the dairy suffers financially from irresponsible statements made by those in a position of responsibility.
We agree with the obligation of scientists to share their findings, but when the statements are biased to scare rather than inform they cannot go unchallenged.
At this point the litigation process has been the only forum to provide both sides of the controversy. If another avenue exists, particularly one that takes the high road, Alta-Dena Certified Dairy is anxious to follow.
