Pacific Bell wants to unplug two “live-answer†numbers, one a line directed at homosexuals and the other offering sexually explicit conversations. The phone company asked the state Public Utilities Commission for permission to disconnect the services offered by Carlin Communications and Sable Communications, which operate jointly in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The telephone company already has filed suit against the companies for violations of regulations that prohibit obscene and indecent messages.
