Fess Parker Given Role in Coral Sea Memorial

WASHINGTON — President Reagan today said his California friend and actor, Fess Parker, will help represent the United States at ceremonies next week in Australia commemorating the Battle of the Coral Sea, which 43 years ago marked a turning point in the war in the Pacific.
Parker, who served with the Navy in the Pacific, will participate in events in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra. The actor is best known as the coonskin cap-wearing frontiersman Davy Crockett.
