Child Car Seats on Loan: Families that cannot afford to comply with the state requirement that small children be seated in safety car seats can ask to borrow one from the Maple Community Center in Fullerton. The center, at 244 E. Valencia Drive, has three car seats available for loan to parents with children who weigh less than 60 pounds. The center hopes to have 30 seats by September with the help of local businesses and community members who contribute toward the purchase of the $30 seats. The Fullerton Police Officers’ Assn. recently donated $100.
