Two former employees of the MacLaren Children’s Center pleaded no contest to charges of selling cocaine to other staff members at the county’s home for neglected or abused children. Jose Luis Ramirez, 31, who worked as a maintenance man at the El Monte facility, pleaded to two counts and Edward Lulet, 34, a child counselor, pleaded to one count of selling less than a gram of the drug. Both face a maximum of five years in state prison when sentenced May 23 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Deputy Dist. Atty. Larry Mira said.
