Del Mar
A suspected arson fire in Del Mar has caused an estimated $50,000 to $60,000 damage to a small clothing store and a vacant real estate office. Del Mar, San Diego and Rancho Bernardo fire units responded late Tuesday to 1412 Camino Del Mar, where they extinguished in 10 minutes a blaze inside Durante’s clothing store, a Del Mar Fire Department spokesman said. The adjacent real estate office received minor smoke damage. According to sheriff’s arson investigators, the fire was apparently started in wastebaskets by a burglar who was inside the closed store.
