2nd Strong Quake Hits Japan

TOKYO — A strong earthquake shook the northern Japanese islands of Honshu and Hokkaido today, the Central Meteorological Agency said. Police said there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The quake had a preliminary reading of 6.8 on the Richter scale with an epicenter about 300 miles north of Tokyo. It was the second strong earthquake in northern Japan in three days.
