University Upsets Sea Kings in Tennis

University High School, led by singles players John Pinches and Carsten Hoffman, handed Corona del Mar its first Sea View League boys’ tennis loss ever Tuesday, 16-12, in a match at University.

Pinches and Carsten both won three sets against one loss as the Trojans, the fourth-ranked team in the Southern Section’s 4-A division, gained sole possession of first place in league with a 5-0 record. The Sea Kings, the third-ranked team in the 4-A, fell into second place at 4-1.
