5.4 Quake Shakes Bishop Area

BISHOP — A moderate earthquake rocked this eastern Sierra region this morning but no damage was reported.
The quake hit at 8:05 a.m. and registered a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was 20 miles northwest of Bishop along Highway 395 and the quake was also felt in Fresno and Porterville, about 80 miles to the southwest.
