The Santa Clara, Calif., company said the employees will be furloughed for 10 to 12 days during the next three months. The company will shut down its manufacturing plants in Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Calif., and Malaysia for two weeks, a move that will affect about 3,000 employees. Another 800 non-manufacturing employees will work four-day weeks during the 12-week quarter that starts March 18. Monolithic said it intends to compensate its employees by giving them one day of additional vacation for every two enforced days off.
