OAKLAND — Fans bound for last January’s Super Bowl game between the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins at Stanford Stadium spent $5 million in Oakland, officials said.
“The Super Bowl weekend itself was the most prosperous weekend for Oakland hotels on record,” according to a report released by the Oakland Convention Center and Visitors Bureau. “The bureau estimates Super Bowl XIX generated $5 million in direct spending in Oakland.”
The bureau said 91.3% of the city’s hotel rooms were booked during the weekend.
