Renovation Work at Edwards AFB Will Expand Lab
The Army Corps of Engineers’ Sacramento District has awarded a $2.2-million renovation contract to Interarc, the interior design division of Widom/Wein & Partners, for the physical science laboratories at Edwards Air Force Base that will be used by the Air Force Rocket Propulsion Laboratories.
The 40,000-square-foot building is presently occupied by the chemical science facilities and the data center, which will be moved to another site, allowing the science laboratories to expand into the vacated 22,000 square feet of space. Widom/Wein, an architecture firm based in Los Angeles, said construction is scheduled to begin later this year.
