Storm Stalls and Clouds Weekend Forecast

Hold everything, the National Weather Service warned Friday, as a storm system stalled 700 miles offshore and cast doubt upon earlier forecasts of possible rain in Orange County by this afternoon.
In its revised forecast late Friday afternoon, the weather service reported that storms such as the one stalled in the Pacific off San Francisco tend to move erratically and are always difficult to time.
“The current best guess is for rain to reach the coast Saturday night and spread inland late Saturday night and Sunday,” the service predicted.
The latest forecast for the Orange County area is a 30% chance of rain by tonight, with high temperatures today of 58 to 63 degrees and lows 45 to 53.
Once the stalled storm starts moving south and inland, Orange County will likely get “heavy precipitation . . . accompanied by strong winds,” the weather service predicted. If the rain hits by Sunday, as now expected, it is likely to continue until Monday.
