Santa Ana Notches Softball Victory, 3-0

The Santa Ana College women’s softball team tied a school record for consecutive wins by beating El Camino, 3-0, in a nonconference game in Torrance Tuesday.
The win raised the Dons’ record to 11-0, matching the consecutive win streak set by the school’s 1982 and 1984 teams.
Chris Makimoto pitched a one-hitter with no walks for the Dons, raising her own record to 5-0. Lesa Godfrey went 3 for 4 and tripled in the first run of the game. Santa Ana College hosts Palomar a 3 p.m. today.
In other action:
L.A. Pierce 3, Golden West 1--The Rustlers fell to 5-5 with this home loss to the Brahmas. Golden West’s second baseman, Sandy Storer was 2 for 2 and scored the Rustlers’ lone run. Golden West hosts Southwestern Friday at 5 p.m.
Chapman College 4-2, UC Riverside 2-3--The Panthers split a doubleheader with Highlanders in Riverside Tuesday. Sheri Petrone hit a double and a triple in the first game and Cathy Fisher picked up the win. Chapman (4-14) plays Fullerton College at Hart Park Thursday.
