APPLETON, Wis. — Air Wisconsin Inc. said it signed a letter of commitment for the purchase of 12 Fokker F-27 MK500 propjet aircraft for a total price of more than $72 million.
The company said deliveries are scheduled on a monthly basis starting in July. The agreement is contingent on the successful completion of Air Wisconsin’s previously announced merger agreement with Mississippi Valley Airlines Inc., Moline, Ill.
The company said that, with the successful completion of the merger, a fleet standardization plan is to provide the new company with 11 jetliners and 18 propjets by mid-1986.
